In May of 2017, Oliver White, Marcelo Perez, and Rodrigo Salles ventured up to the crystal clear waters of the Upper Secure River at Tsimane to fly fish for dorado and pacu.
This trip was filmed by Matt Jones and his crew and is now edited by Camilo Duarte and available to watch in a new film short sponsored by Patagonia. Enjoy!
We are pleased to announce Tsimane is featured in a new episode of the WAYPOINTS podcast.
On the newest episode of WAYPOINTS, our very own Marcelo Perez sits down with Jim Klug to discuss fly fishing for dorado in Bolivia and a life of adventure.
Ken Tanaka of Wish4Fish visited Tsimane for what was a memorable trip — much of it captured in a new video.
FromWish4Fish:
“Ken Tanaka of Wish4Fish is back on the water! This time fly fishing in Bolivia at Tsimane Lodge with Untamed Angling.
I was down in Bolivia with Untamed Angling and Tsimane Lodge at their Secure Lodge in the jungle of Bolivia. I can say as of now this is my favorite fishery in the world. The chance to catch Golden Dorado, Pacu and Yatorana on the fly! If you’re lucky you can have the chance at some insane catfish like the Surubi and Moturo!
If you’re looking for a fly fishing destination for Golden Dorado then look no further, Untamed Angling is the only answer.”
The first months of the season have been thrilling to say the least. Another new video from Untamed Angling highlights some of the great fishing we’ve experienced so far this season.
Pacu on the fly! June in the jungle is an exciting time to be on the water, and this past June brought exciting and explosive fly fishing action for pacu, dorado, and more.
We are grateful and honored to have Tsimane recognized by MR PORTER as one of “Five Of The World’s Wildest Fishing Trips.” We agree — the jungle waters of Tsimane offer extraordinary wilderness fly fishing opportunities unlike anything else out there.
We are big fans of Catch Magazine, and it is always exciting to see when an Untamed Angling destination is featured in the magazine. In the new issue of Catch Magazine, our very own Rafael Costa has an article about fly fishing for dorado at Tsimane. Nice work, Rafael!

It’s an honor to have an Untamed Angling destination featured in another magazine. Derek Ulbrich visited Tsimane to take on the dorado of the Bolivian jungle and left feeling like he had visited “fly fishing nirvana.” An article about his trip now appears in the new issue of Lighthouse Point Magazine.

The jungle fly fishing experience at Tsimane in Bolivia is one unlike any other. Giant dorado inhabit these waters and reveal to their prey, and sometimes even anglers, who’s in charge. These fish are ready to attack flies, test gear, and reward anglers handsomely for their efforts when it all comes together. Maddie Brenneman made a trip to Tsimane this season and found this all out for herself. And what an experience it was!

Last year, anglers got a peek into the fly fishing experience at Tsimane through the film “Jungle Angler” from Capt. Jack Productions and Off the Grid Studios. The film traveled on the Fly Fishing Film Tour and showed more than 100 audiences what fly fishing for dorado in Bolivia is all about. Now “Jungle Angler” is available on Amazon.com (and free for Prime members).
There are unique fishing destinations in the world – wild locations where getting there is half the adventure and one can experience life-changing angling experiences.
At Untamed Angling we dream about these waters, and pursue the most remote and difficult-to-operate angling destinations in the world, undeterred by the distances, difficulties, obstacles, and the naysayers. We are wholly driven by legends, myths, and the spirit of adventure.
It’s the unknown that drives us each and every day in creating and developing the most exotic, remote and spectacular angling odysseys that have ever been made available to the fly fishing industry.
It’s the soul of our being:
venturing deep into nature.
